A Half Hour Ago
I started to go to bed a half hour ago, but felt faintly uneasy, and decided to read. There was a book on the top on an unplanned stack: A Field Guide to Getting Lost, by Rebecca Solnit. The stack was not planned. The moving of some furniture in preparation for the painting of a room had resulted in the creation of the stack. Completely haphazard.
Excuse me for a moment. The slip of paper is in my shirt pocket, which is in the bedroom. Be right back...
OK, I'm back now. Sorry about that. Here it is. I've formatted it just the way it is on the little slip of paper, including the lines:

I had forgotten about the little slip of paper until I started to read the book.
