George, allaboutgeorge was reminded of this older Salon article;
My name is George and I'm an Alcoholic, an article written by a recovering alcoholic stating his perspectives on Bush as a fellow alcoholic. The article was written July 26, 2001 and was quite forgiving to some of Bush's personality traits, or, possibly, the most obnoxious traits had yet to become evident. It is an interesting viewpoint but it shows a tunnel vision inherent in Bush that doesn't afford the same apologetic understanding for other alcoholics, who may have chosen a different recovery path. I wonder, after time has passed, and events have applied even more pressure, what the author's perspective is now.
